Health: Fedriga, the disability portal confirms Fvg quality

First instrument of this type made in Italy

Trieste, April 1 (askanews) – “The quality level of a community is measured by its ability to be inclusive. The presentation of the first portal in Italy dedicated to disability is the thermometer that marks the goodness of our action. As a regional administration, we do not work in the interest of only one segment of the population. Our interventions are designed and implemented for a collective benefit, in favor of all citizens of Friuli-Venezia Giulia”. This was stated by the Governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga, who today, together with the Deputy Governor for Health, Riccardo Riccardi, presented the new portal dedicated to disability in the presence of the Minister for Disabilities, Erika Stefani.

“Accessibility also means improving access to information about the many opportunities present in Friuli-Venezia Giulia – said Fedriga -. The portal is useful for different aspects of the lives of people with disabilities. In fact, it is a tool capable of making a significant contribution to the removal of these barriers, in this case virtual but very often physical, which many citizens unfortunately have to face on a daily basis”.

“Faced with problems of this magnitude, technical skills are not enough. Even in public administration – added the Governor – we need heart and passion and a team game that in this region we have been able to do very well. Improving services of this value is a journey that we certainly cannot do alone”.

“Today is a fundamental day for Friuli Venezia Giulia which has always been one of the most advanced regions in Italy in terms of disability – said Vice Governor Riccardo Riccardi -. The presentation of this portal represents a decisive step in the revision of Law 41 of 1996 which governs the entire sector and which we want to approve in October before the new stability law”.

“This is an extremely important but outdated rule – recalled the Deputy Governor -. Indeed, the time has come to introduce new concepts and rethink the chain of opportunities offered to people with disabilities, their families and professionals. The project is already at an advanced stage of drafting. Our revolutionary goal – explained Riccardi – is to provide solutions according to the needs of the individual and the necessary services. It is no longer acceptable that, as is still the case today, performance and accompanying measures are guaranteed on the basis of cold parameters such as equal standards for all”.

A dynamic container of all the opportunities offered by the territory, the portal www.disabilita.regione.fvg.it is easy to use thanks to an innovative menu that starts from the needs of users. Inside you can find information on topics such as home, culture, work, sports, school and much more, aimed at improving the quality of life for people with disabilities

“This is an interactive platform, managed by the Region’s well-being space, perfect for facilitating discussions on these issues while fully respecting the principles of active participation and centrality of the person with a view to real inclusion. A significant step – noted Riccardi – built, in particular, with the contribution of the Council of Associations of People with Disabilities and their Families”.

Finally, during the press conference, it was recalled that, despite the Vaia, Covid-19 and Ukraine emergencies, the regional administration has already implemented significant actions and resources in terms of health budgets, social and health integration and the Fund for possible autonomy (Fap), whose budget has increased by more than 10 million euros.
