Inter, Brozovic renews until 2026

The club announced the signing of the midfielder, who was due to expire at the end of the season: he will receive 6 million euros net per season plus bonuses

The news was long overdue, but it had been in the air for several days. Marcelo Brozovic has renewed the Inter contract until 2026. The Nerazzurri club thus ensures the performance of the Croatian midfielder who has proved irreplaceable in recent weeks for Simone Inzaghi’s team. His contract would expire next June, while the new deal ties him to the Italian champions for four more seasons. The meeting point was found at 6 million euros per season, plus bonuses: the prizes are linked to both personal and team achievements.

The press release

“Fc Internazionale Milano – reads the club’s website – announces that an agreement has been reached for the extension of the contract of the player Marcelo Brozovic: the midfielder born in 1992 will be Nerazzurri until June 30, 2026”.

Still together

The agreement, finalized in January, shows how much the club believes in its director. Negotiations were long and economic demands were discussed several times to find common ground: Brozovic’s management broadly followed in the footsteps of what had been done before with Lautaro Martinez. The group that won the Scudetto with Antonio Conte has a bright future and the club intend to confirm their mainstays. The formalization came the day when Milan Skriniar reaffirmed his desire to stay in Milan.

The words

To accompany the announcement, the player’s first words after signing the four-year term were also released: “I’m really, really happy. I really wanted this renewal and the club knew that. I never wanted to talk to another team out of respect for “Inter and its supporters. I’ve always told my agents that I wouldn’t want to talk to any other club unless Inter told me they wouldn’t want to renew my contract.” Obviously that’s a possibility that has always been far away, the management still planning to secure Brozovic for the future as well. The present speaks of a calf injury which has left him in the pits for the past two weeks but, expanding his horizons, his Inter adventure can only be assessed positively: “I am very happy with the coach and my teammates, and I am happy to defend these colors for a long time and to be part of this project. We are determined to try to achieve important new goals, all together. We always play to win and that’s our only goal.” Then, a last look at the goals for this season: “I’m sure we’ll give everything to win the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia. We will work even harder every day, because it is only through work, effort, determination in training. goals can be achieved.
