Italian Equestrian Sports Federation – Piazza di Siena 2022, all national competition programs online

Plenty of space for federal activities also in this 89th edition of CSIO Rome

Also this year there is no lack of many competitive show jumping activities at national level alongside the prestigious international Villa Borghese. As part of the 89th CSIO in Rome – Piazza di Siena – scheduled from May 25 to 29, 2022, the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation has planned many programs dedicated to show jumping.

The national competitions will mainly take place on the Galoppatoio field but some finals will take place in the spectacular green oval, to crown the dream of all riders and riders of all ages who practice the most widespread discipline of equestrian sports in Italy.

Let’s see what the 2022 program has in store for us below:


About thirty qualified couples will participate in the test in the “Test Event (Gorla)” and “Pony Master Show” events (see specific paragraph HERE)

For the Pony Trophy category: the first 10 pairs in the BEGINNER 110 category

For the Emerging Pony Cup category: the first 10 pairs in the EMERGING 115 category

For the Future Pony category: the first 10 couples in the FUTURE 120 category.

The races will take place on the same course with different heights. Registration must be done from May 9 to May 13.


The event is reserved for 5 riders, holders of a 1st degree riding permit, aged 18 years maximum (calendar year), registered with the competent regional committees of the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports, selected among riders with sports residence in the own territory, on the basis of the criteria determined in the regulations, resolved autonomously by each regional committee.

Four pairs will make up the representative team of the Region; the 5th pair competes individually. Each Regional Committee has the right to participate with only one team. Teams composed of only 3 elements can also be entered; in this case, for the purposes of the final classification, the worst performance cannot be discarded.

Each Region can also register for the race a lower number of 3 pairs which in this case will participate exclusively in the individual classification.

The competition formula includes two identical or different courses and the Final “The Next Generation” mixed category and style. Entries must be made by the respective Regional Committees via online entry and by sending the appropriate form to the Competitive Promotion and Development Department – mail to by May 16, 2022.


The event aims to create a prestigious showcase within the framework of one of the most famous international competitions in the world and an important confrontation between Italian and foreign horses. The best show jumping subjects, Italian and foreign, aged 6 and 7 ridden by Italian riders, who carry out their sporting activity in the national territory, will be able to participate in the event.

A group of categories dedicated to Ambassador riders is included in the national competition calendar and in which the 10 best riders from the Computer Ambassador List 1st and 2nd year, the 10 best riders classified in the Computer Ambassador List 1st and 2nd year, take 1st degree and the 10 best riders ranked in the Computer List Ambassador for the Brevets selection.

The events, with a total prize pool of 15,000 euros, are reserved for riders holding Brevet, 1st and 2nd degree licenses with a maximum of one horse per group (Bronze – Silver – Gold) except possible participation with a second horse if the registration deadline has not been reached the maximum number expected. To this end, on the opening date for registration, a rider wishing to participate in the same group with a second horse must also register it in the online system. If on the closing date indicated on May 16 there are still places available, the second horses will be accepted according to the chronological order of arrival.

2 runners for each team participate in the Piazza di Siena race. There will be two tests on a C145 category according to the Italian Champion Tour regulations. All registrations must be made through the online system, from April 19 at 10:00 a.m. to May 16, 2022 at 24:00 a.m.
