Next Age was born at the initiative of CDP Venture Capital with AC75 Startup Acceleratorthe startup accelerator promoted by the Marche Foundation together with the Cariverona Foundation and the Polytechnic University of Marche, to the international venture capital company SOSVwhich manages development programs for startups in the start-up phase, and sees the presence of Intesa Sanpaolo as main partner as well as of the National Institute for Hospitalization and Care of the Elderly (INRCA), from the Polytechnic University of Marche and the UK National Innovation Center for Aging who will be the scientific partners of the initiative. The program is part of a collaboration between CDP Venture Capital with the Marche Foundation and the Cariverona Foundation, which resulted in a total allocation of eight million euros for the development of innovative startups and SMEs in the region.

With a initial endowment of 5.46 million euros, signed by the Accelerator Fund of CDP Venture Capital and by AC75 Startup Accelerator, Next Age aims to support the growth of startups operating in the silver economy: from well-being to health, from new models of housing and providence to leisure , from mobility to tourism, to dedicated financial and insurance services. In addition to an initial investment for startups selected by the program, the endowment includes capital for subsequent post-acceleration follow-ups for startups with greater growth potential.

Next Age is a three-year program that plans to select each about a year ten seed and pre-seed startups, who will have access to a structured course lasting 4 months with the support of accelerator partners, to be guided towards the validation of your business model.

The WeSportUp accelerator for sports and wellness/health startups will officially launch in Rome on April 6, 2022, at Foro Italico. The technological campus will be opened and the operational team presented in a completely renovated space inside the Foro Italico park.

The initiative aims to fill the national gap of investments in innovation in sport which, globally in the last 5 years, has exceeded 27.5 billion euros, bringing together the main actors of the national ecosystem and international in the perspective of open innovation: startups and scaleups, sports associations and organizations, companies in the sector, specialized universities and investors.

WeSportUp, promoted by Sport e salute, the state company that promotes sport and healthy lifestyles in Italy and by CDP Venture Capital’s Accelerator Fund, will involve in 3 years, through a public call, about 30 sportstech and wellnesstech startups, national and internationalinterested in the development in Italy and will help provide additional financial support to the most deserving realities with third-party investors already interested in the project.

The management of the program is entrusted to Startupbootcamp, a European accelerator with 1,200 companies in its portfolio and with the management of 2 sportstech accelerators in Australia and Qatar, a pioneer in the implementation of incubation, development and investment programs in sports startups and protagonist of the most important exit of an Italian startup in the field of sports technology with Wyscout.

The 2022 edition of WeSportUp will last 10 months and will start with a 4-month scouting phase with the aim of seeking the most interesting realities that develop technological solutions for sport and well-being in all areas of innovation : performance and well-being, materials innovation, fan experience and metaverse, solutions for the management of sports organizations, smart places, games and export, ESG and sustainability.

The search will lead to the selection day, the day when the 10 startups will be selected to participate in the acceleration phase, a 13-week period which represents the high point of the program. Intense daily work coordinated by the WeSportUp team, consisting of moments of one-to-one support and coaching, corporate training workshops, masterclasses with experts and professionals from the world of sport-tech, support activities for the commercial development of start-ups, working sessions with partner companies. The aim is also to prepare the demonstration day, the final moment of the first cycle, during which the startups will present themselves to the partners of the accelerator, to investors and to all the actors of the Italian sports industry.
