Slow Food Catania. Sunday in La Pineta: a day of art, gastronomy, directors and neighborhoods

After the official presentation last March 20 at the town hall of Linguaglossa, Slow Food Catania celebrates the Sausage al ceppo with a day dedicated to art, food, directors.

Meet on Sunday April 3 at 10 a.m. at Linguaglossa at the Francesco Messina-Salvatore Incorpora Museum, which for the occasion will open the doors to the Retrospective “National Painting Prize. Pineta di Linguaglossa ”, a gift that the city of the 51st Slow Food Presidium wanted to give to all fans.

“Sunday – comments Vanessa Gulisano, events manager of the Slow Food Catania convoy – was designed to give all those who could not attend the official presentation the opportunity to taste this sausage and do it the way of Slow Food, or with a day dedicated to conviviality. The town of Linguaglossa will open the museum to us, giving us the possibility of combining gastronomy, entertainment and culture. A good mix to celebrate the arrival of a spring that does not seem to be in a hurry. to arrive, we hope it’s a good omen”.

“A Sunday full of fun but above all good food. We have created many surprises – continues Anastasia De Luca, trustee of the Catania company – We will combine tradition and innovation, generations that have made the history of Sicilian food and wine excellence with the young promises of the territory, through a common thread that is the desire to tell a Sicily of flavors, good, clean and fair and we will do it by combining the history of a territory, like Linguaglossa, with the intuition of a young reality of this island, Volcano Gin. A free interpretation of the principles of the menu prepared for us by the restaurant Ruvì, preceded precisely by the tasting of a gin produced on Etna, Volcano Gin, during which the three young producers, Diego Pollicina, Alessandro Malfitana and Stefano Lo Giudice, tell us their story, followed by a tasting of handmade Easter doves by Dolci Ricordi di Sicilia in collaboration with chef Angelo Cinquerughe. A pleasant foray by Piero di Giovanni from the Sicilian Regional Enoteca – Eastern Sicily that will surprise us with good news and the possibility after lunch to go to the Le Contrade dell’Etna event, the restaurant is really close, where for the Slow Food members, there is a 20% discount on the ticket price. In short, an intense program where Sicilian excellences will not be lacking”.

A rich and intense program that sees the collaboration and synergy between several realities of a territory that in recent years has been surprising and interesting to food and wine lovers from all over the world.

“We like to call ourselves the children of Etna, we were born and raised here. The idea of creating something in and from our land gave us the right impetus to see opportunity where others saw limits. We are lucky to live on an island that knows how to give us infinite resources, it is up to us to know how to make the most of it – says Alessandro Malfitana, one of the producers of Volcano Gin – Ours is a Volcanic Dry Gin, which was born on the slopes of Etna and of which it tells its strong and ethereal character, which wants to be said without the need for words. Being part of this wonderful team set up by Slow Food to usher in a “new spring” is exciting in every way. We believe in the value of collaboration, because only we can move forward, but it is together that we go far. I’m not saying anything else except that we are all waiting for you! “.

A day rich in events, a “new spring” as the organizers have defined it, a moment of conviviality and a return to the open air, a place and a time to get together away from home and have fun with friends, family and with the curiosity to discover new flavors.
