It is undoubtedly a genuine recognition of the contribution made, during his career, to the increase in sporting practice, to fairness and to the support of the ethical values specific to sport”. This, in short, is the essence of the “Gran Gala of Sport City of Castiglion Fiorentino”, a charity event created by the Municipality of Castiglion Fiorentino in 2016 which over the years has been gradually enriched and expanded, and which returns Monday, May 2 at 9 p.m. at the Spina Theater. These are therefore intense days for the organizing committee which identifies the names of the athletes who will be rewarded.
In previous editions, the Spina Theater has hosted many athletes belonging to the 7 prizes named after “Corrado Viciani”the ancestor of the “short game”, a Fabrizio Meonithe unforgettable centaur of Castiglionese who died during a stage of the Paris-Dakar in 2005, a “#16 Vigor Bovolenta”the Polesine Giant pillar of the strongest Italian volleyball team nicknamed “generation of phenomena”, in Federico Luzzithe promising young Italian tennis player struck down by fulminant leukemia at the age of 28, announces Alfredo Martinithe coach of the Italian national team with whom he won six world titles, to the player “Bruno Beatrice”the “Mastiff” for the powerful physique and the large breed, ea Mario D’Agata , the first and only deaf-mute boxer to win a world title.
